The strike duo stepped off the bench against Fulham on Saturday and helped to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw.

Vydra snatched a late leveller at The Hawthorns and feels there could be more to come from an understanding with Anichebe if the pair are given the opportunity to spearhead a survival bid.

The Czech frontman said in the Express and Star: "If me and Victor play together that is better for me because he is strong and I am quick.

"It is good for me but it is the coach's call. For me it is always better if I play with a strong striker.

"The goal was a big moment for me. I went on the pitch and it was important to score a goal.

"Before the game we needed three points, but we only got one.

"But if we'd lost to Fulham and they'd taken three points they would have been closer to us, so in that way it's a good result.

"We dropped two points but after the game it is a good point for us.

"In the first half we had a chance for Thievy (Bifouma) but he missed it and Fulham shot once and scored a goal.

"In the second half they dropped back and just defended."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
