Golobart: Done with Rovers

The Spanish defender joined Rovers ahead of last month's 4-0 home win over Colchester - a match that proved to be his only league appearance for the Prenton Park outfit.

Golobart also completed 90 minutes in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Port Vale, but Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore revealed Ash Taylor's unexpected return from injury prevented further first-team opportunities for the 20-year-old.

Moore told his club's official website: "I bet he's wondering what he's done wrong but he hasn't done a great deal wrong.

"He's come in and the thing was we had Lazarus with Ash. At one time it looked like he was going to be out for a month and all of a sudden he could walk again.

"That was the problem. Roman came in and played in the 4-0 win and I left him out [at Crewe] and the rest is history. But I'd like to thank Wigan for letting us have him."
