Wigan spent big on Boselli's services in 2010, with a prolific strike rate in his homeland bringing the Argentine striker to the attention of clubs in Europe.

The 27-year-old has, however, struggled to reproduce the kind of form which has seen him capped four times by his country since arriving in England.

He has netted just four times for Wigan during limited appearances and has taken in loan spells at Genoa and former employers Estudiantes in the last two seasons.

Boselli claims to have enjoyed the time he spent in Italy and is hoping that Wigan will grant him a move if clubs from Serie A come calling again during the January transfer window.

"Before the start of this season, my agent told me that Genoa wanted to take me back but Wigan blocked a sale," Boselli told calciomercato.it.

"I would have liked to go back to Genoa and show my true value, because the first time I had the misfortune to get injured and had little opportunity to impress.

"Other Italian clubs have also asked about me, but Wigan said 'no'.

"It is still my desire to play in Serie A because Italian football is more suited to my characteristics."

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
