John Stones: Lined up by Wigan

Stones has been very impressive for Barnsley this season and his performances have attracted the interest of a host of Premier League clubs.

The likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Sunderland have all been credited with an interest in Stones, but Wigan are hoping to win the race for the 18-year-old's signature.

Martinez has made Stones one of his top transfer targets this month and he is ready to push through a move for the talented full-back.

Martinez hopes the lure of regular first-team football will help him beat their Premier League rivals to the signing.

Barnsley are reluctant to lose Stones, but know they will not be able to reject a sizeable offer for the teenager in this month's transfer window.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
