@wexford blue you aren't in transition because none of your key players are retiring and need replacing- all of your players are between 26-32 so you're kind of expected to win the league- geddit?

"Fourth place secured for the sixth time in nine seasons. In the preceding eight campaigns, Arsenal failed to finish outside the top two, winning the title three times." Really strange how even when Arsenal succeed admirably at something there always seems to be a way for someone to put a twist on it and say they "failed".

You all know bobsy is always over the top so no need to treat his comments as representative of the Liverpool fanbase. Honestly, I find it absolutely ironic that so many fans come here telling us Liverpool fans are the most annoying bunch ever in the history of mankind when they themselves are completely ignoring the countless sensible posters only to indulge in their own annoying whining. Maybe a look in the mirror is in order.

@bobsy, take it you're not from this little Ireland? "You all got what you wanted"... I haven't turned on a football related programme in the last 3 weeks that hasn't had at least 2 Liverpool legends spouting about the title. Soccer AM, Rush & Aldridge, Talksh1te, Barns, Houghton well too many to mention, MOTD, Sky's live coverage all full of the opinions and thoughts of ex Liverpool. Yep the whole nation has been routing for City..

lassic management. Build them up and then knock them back. Raise expectations and then dampen them. Create a dynamic where by you demand the most from your team, but where the team are given room to manoeuvre unexpected or unwanted results. Classy work by Van Gaal, he really reminds me a lot of me. A smart cookie, make no doubt.
