Roger Johnson: Targeting a run of victories

Influential defender Johnson headed the second-half equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Rovers - Saunders' first game since taking charge of the club.

It followed a run of three successive Championship defeats over the festive period and an FA Cup exit at non-league Luton which ultimately cost Stale Solbakken his job.

Johnson told the club's official website: "Results haven't gone our way recently - we've had a change of manager and finally we've got half a result with the draw against Blackburn.

"It was key to end the run of defeats and hopefully now things are looking up.

"The fans have got behind the new manager and we've had a difference in style of play going a bit more direct.

"It's not that we didn't want it to work with Stale but now we've got a totally different approach and it's getting in people's faces and hopefully this will be successful."

He continued: "We just maybe need a bit of confidence to get that win and then you can go on runs in this league of six or seven unbeaten."
