Midfielder Billy Clifford has returned to Chelsea after cutting short his loan spell with Yeovil Town.

The 20-year-old arrived from Stamford Bridge on a six-month deal but failed to make a Sky Bet Championship appearance for the Glovers.

And with manager Gary Johnson having added a sixth loan player last week in goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and clubs only being permitted to have five in their matchday squad, Clifford was not even on the bench against Derby on Saturday.

"I'd like to thank Billy for his time with us at Yeovil and wish him all the best for the rest of his career," Johnson told the club's official website.
