Ishmael Miller: Delighted to be playing regularly again at Yeovil

The powerful frontman is looking to get his career back on track following a frustrating time with injuries.

Frequent spells on the treatment table have prevented him from making the desired impact at Nottingham Forest following a 2011 switch from West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds have deemed him surplus to requirements and have allowed him to link up with Championship rivals Yeovil on a short-term deal which is initially due to run January.

The Glovers have expressed a desire to keep him at Huish Park past that point, but Miller has learned from experience to expect nothing in football.

He told the Western Gazette: "We will see what happens in a month's time. You never know what happens in football, it changes so quickly and I'm really happy to be here at this time and I'm relishing the task ahead during these next few weeks.

"There's no better feeling than playing a game and winning a game, knowing you have done well for the team and team's done well for you.

"It's a big difference here to being in the big cities but I feel this is what I needed and that's one of the reasons I came down here.

"It's taken me away from those cities where I have the security of my friends and family so I can solely concentrate on my football."

Miller, who has netted twice in three appearances for Yeovil, added: "It's good to get back on the pitch, get minutes under the belt and obviously it's been a great start with the results we've had.

"I have been wanting to play and been frustrated not playing. Hopefully I can come here and do a job for the team.

"Obviously I have been through a lot of injuries and things football-wise that other people haven't been through which has made me a stronger person, mentally stronger and made me a better player.

"I need games under my belt as I believe I'm coming into my prime at 26. I have done a few things in my career so far and I have had three promotions, which is decent, but I am just happy to be playing football again.

"I want to get back to the level that I feel I can play at. I just want to go on and be the player I know I can be."

ood lord that's got me unnecessarily excited. Damn you Storey. Cut to Liverpool being crushed under the wheels of Sparky's Stoke Machine and Firmino brought off the bench to no effect. It's the hope that kills you.

think he'll do quite well. My only reservation would be Kagawa, who had similar stats to Firmino in the bundesliga before he came, but time will tell.
