Gary Johnson: Planning on doing business in the New Year

The Glovers have allowed Dan Seaborne to link up with Sky Bet League One outfit Coventry City on loan, and that agreement could be extended, while striker Paddy Madden has been made available.

Johnson says he will be open to offers in the New Year, with departures freeing up space for possible arrivals.

He said in the Western Gazette: "Dan Seaborne is already at Coventry and I think they're looking to maintain that. We've got to look at that depending on our situation at the time.

"It depends who it is, but if anyone comes in for one or two of the others, we will have to consider it."

While prepared to discuss outgoings, Johnson is hoping there will be positive news on the incoming front - with loan extensions being sought.

Yeovil currently have Everton duo John Lundstram and Shane Duffy on their books, while Liam Fontaine and Ishmael Miller have been taken off Bristol City and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Johnson added: "It depends. We're looking to renew first and then see what we have got after that.

"It's not easy to get hold of some managers at this time of the season when they are flitting and flirting with training, Christmas and their families.

"The Everton lads we have certainly gone down that road a bit further. We will have to make contact with the other clubs and their representatives as quickly as we can.

"There's been initial contact but they have said to wait until later in their loan."

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
