£30m Man Utd transfer ‘threatened’ for ‘shock reason’ as Prem giants refuse to ‘sanction’ move
According to reports, Dean Henderson’s move to Nottingham Forest could collapse as Manchester United are yet to ‘sanction’ his exit.
After slipping back behind David De Gea in the pecking order at Man Utd, the Englishman was given permission to join Nottm Forest on loan last season.
Henderson performed well for Steve Cooper’s side but he missed the final few months of the season as a result of a serious thigh injury.
Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas filled in for Henderson during the run-in as Forest managed to avoid relegation with a game to spare.
Navas has since returned to PSG, while Forest are attempting to sign Henderson on a permanent basis and he could cost as much as £30m.
Cooper’s side signed Matt Turner from Arsenal on Wednesday morning in a deal worth £7m, but it is their intention to also sign Henderson, who would compete with the USA international.
But The Sun are reporting that Henderson’s move to Nottm Forest is under threat for a ‘shock reason’.
On this occasion, this headline has been dramatised quite a lot as Henderson is ‘yet to sign for Nottm Forest due to an injury’. The report adds.
‘Forest have not yet been able to complete a deal due to the severity of the goalkeeper’s thigh issue.
‘Despite Henderson’s steady progress in training, SunSport understands there remains a real threat that the strenuous medical required by Forest risks aggravating his injury and causing more damage.
‘Man Utd are reluctant to risk a further setback for the academy graduate, so they are not yet willing to sanction a move yet. Both parties are now willing to wait until he has fully recovered.
‘While an exact timeframe has not yet been put on Henderson’s recovery, Nottingham Forest are hoping to complete a deal for him towards the end of the transfer window.’

Earlier this month, Stan Collymore encouraged Henderson to “push to leave Man Utd” this summer.
“If I was Nottingham Forest, I would sign Dean Henderson ahead of Matt Turner,” Collymore told Caught Offside.
“He has more experience and has been around senior England squads. He also knows what it’s like to be fighting to be Manchester United’s number one, and that shows top-level determination and a wealth of confidence.
“With that being said though, if Henderson has any sort of ambition whatsoever, he will push to leave Manchester United this summer with the aim of becoming Forest’s outright number one.”
