Atletico Madrid’s £30m-rated defender Kieran Tripper is “prepared to wait” to seal his move to Man United this summer, according to reports.

The defender was a mainstay for Tottenham between 2017 and 2019 as he replaced Kyle Walker as their first-choice right-back.

Trippier shone for Spurs as they reached the final of the Champions League at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Man United could end up like Barcelona if they keep Pogba

Atletico Madrid signed him that summer for a fee of £20m plus add-ons. The full-back has impressed under Diego Simeone as the Spanish side won the La Liga title last term.

Trippier has been heavily linked with a move to Man United of late.

The Telegraph have reported that the defender believes that he may have to wait until the end of the transfer window to secure his move to Man United.

He is “prepared to wait” until then as Madrid are hoping to sell him for around £30m.

Elsewhere, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Axel Tuanzebe may leave as a result of Raphael Varane joining Man United:

“I can see of course with Raphael looking like everything is sorted there and we’ve made that deal.  I can see Axel going out,” Solskjaer said.

“That’s because I’ve got Raphael, Maguire, Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones is coming back in. He’s due to start training over the weekend when we’ve got everyone in on Monday.

“That’s a big plus for him. I’ve had similar troubles in my career. He’s such a professional, good lad and it’s great to see him ready to train again.

“So hopefully he can, first of all, train with us and then get game time soon. If he can play in the Under-23s to start with or the reserves or we can arrange a behind-closed-doors game for him because I know exactly the feeling after being out for so long.

“You just want to feel your way in. He’s always served the club and it was time for him to look after himself and his own health, but now he’s ready to train with us.”
