Adama Traore is ‘pissed off’ with Wolves over their ‘strategy’ to get him to sign a new contract amid transfer links to Liverpool, according to reports.

Nuno Espirito Santo has only started Traore in three of Wolves’ eight Premier League matches this term, with his other five appearances coming from the substitutes bench.

Last term, Traore started 27 matches in the Premier League, coming off the bench on ten occasions, scoring four goals and assisting nine.

And, according to Dermot Corrigan and Tim Spiers in The Athletic, the contract talks between the Premier League outfit and Traore has ‘reached deadlock’.

Traore believes the offer currently on the table from Wolves ‘doesn’t reflect his value to the squad’ with the likes of Liverpool heavily linked with a possible move for the winger.

And the report adds that Traore thinks Wolves are leaving him out of their starting XI in an effort to get him to agree to a new contract, with his existing deal running out in the summer of 2023.

A source told The Athletic: “Adama thinks it could be part of a strategy to get him to sign a new contract, but he does not want to. So that’s why (he thinks) he’s not in the team. He’s a bit pissed off, to be honest.“

However, another source ‘rejected that suggestion’ and reckons that Traore has been left out of Nuno’s starting XI for ‘football reasons’.
