AFC Wimbledon v Plymouth preview

Summer recruits Lyle Taylor and Tom Elliott should flank Adebayo Akinfenwa in AFC Wimbledon’s new-look forward line for the Sky Bet League Two opener against Plymouth.
Neal Ardley’s men start the new campaign by hosting the Pilgrims, with Scunthorpe recruit Taylor keen to build on five goals in four pre-season appearances.
Free agent arrival Elliott has settled quickly after three years with Cambridge and should feature.
Bristol City loanee Karleigh Osborne is in line to start in defence alongside another new face in former Millwall defender Paul Robinson.
Deane Smalley is expected to be the only player unavailable for Plymouth boss Derek Adams as he prepares for his first game in charge of the club.
Smalley has been a long-term absentee with a knee injury he sustained last year and the striker will not be back to full fitness until November at the earliest.
Midfielder Josh Simpson missed Argyle’s final two pre-season games with a tight hamstring but he resumed training this week and will be available to make his debut.
Fellow summer signings Gary Sawyer, Jake Jervis, Gregg Wylde, Graham Carey, Hiram Boateng and Craig Tanner will also hope to make it into Adams’ starting line-up in south west London.
