Agent claims Tottenham are interested in prolific forward who has also been linked with Man Utd
According to football agent Morris Pagniello, Tottenham are interested in Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez as the club searches for a new striker.
Despite the loss of Harry Kane, Spurs have started the new Premier League campaign well with four points from their opening two fixtures.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have scored four goals in their opening two matches and have looked good on the eye so far.
Richarlison has led the line for Tottenham of late, but the club are seemingly keen to strengthen their forward options.
Plenty of strikers are currently being considered and according to Pagniello, Gimenez is a player of interest for Tottenham.
The 22-year-old striker scored 23 goals across all competitions for Feyenoord last season and is attracting interest from across Europe.
“Santi is one of the Top 10 players in Europe , of the strikers there are because there are few and now with the departure of many strikers who went to Saudi Arabia, there are few on the market,” Pagniello told Medio Tiempo.
“So even Tottenham [are interested] many clubs; I have a friend who trains there and there are many clubs that would like to have Santi this season.
“There are still 10 days to go on the market, in football you never know, I hope I can support him, but the boy is doing very well.
“If he stays at Feyenoord for another year they will also be happy because he will be able to play and show that the team plays for him, he is a goalscorer.
“I see it very well , and the support he has from his family, they have a great example as his father is, but the family I see that they are very well and he takes care of himself, I think he has a great future.”
Earlier in the window, Man Utd were said to be interested in Gimenez, but they ultimately decided to sign Rasmus Hojlund instead.
Gimenez is on a long-term contract with Feyenoord as his current deal runs until the summer of 2027.
Tottenham are also said to be considering deals for the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Jonathan David, Gift Orban and Dusan Vlahovic although some moves would be easier to pull off than others.
