Lucas Torreira wants to leave Arsenal and return to Italy, according to the Uruguay international’s agent.
Torreira has started in only 15 Premier League matches this season with reports linking him with a switch away from Arsenal back in January.
Just before the Premier League season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Torreira was taken off on a stretcher early on during the 2-0 FA Cup win at Portsmouth and was later seen leaving Fratton Park on crutches.
An ankle fracture was confirmed by Arsenal but no return date was set until the 24-year-old had seen a specialist – with further information released on March 9th that he would be out for between eight to 10 weeks.
AC Milan have been reportedly interested in bringing the midfielder – who joined Arsenal in 2018 from Sampdoria – back to Serie A.
On Torreira’s injury and possible future away from Arsenal, his agent Pablo Bentancur told TuttoMercatoWeb (via Sport Witness): “Lucas had been in a bit of a bad mood over some technical differences, then he recovered. And then this injury happened, fortunately less serious than expected.
“Today he is completely recovered, I believe he will be a market man.
“I will have to talk to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and he’s behaved great.”
