Agent of ‘integral’ Arsenal player opens door to summer transfer – ‘he can go anywhere’

The agent of Arsenal star Jorginho has hinted that the midfielder could leave the Premier League leaders during this summer’s transfer window.
Jorginho spent the first half of this season with Chelsea. He was initially expected to leave the club this summer when his contract expired.
But he was snapped up by Arsenal during the January transfer window for around £12m. He was recruited after the North Londoners failed to buy Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
A few Gunners supporters were unimpressed by this signing at the time but Jorginho has made a positive impact in recent months.
The Italy international’s contract at Arsenal runs until 2024. Over the years, he has consistently been linked with a move back to Serie A after his previous stellar spell with Napoli.
Jorginho’s agent – João Santos – has been speaking to Italian media and refused the rule out the prospect of his player returning to Serie A.
“Jorginho can win the Premier League with Arsenal, there are 10 games left which will be 10 finals. It has been years since he has won the championship so there is great motivation,” Santos told Radio Crc (via Sport Witness).
“Football is dynamic, when Arsenal took him the Italian teams didn’t need a player like Jorginho. With his characteristics and his very intelligent football, he can go anywhere.”
Ex-Gunners player Paul Merson has been full of praise for Jorginho but he “wouldn’t be surprised if he left this summer”.
“The Jorginho signing has been an absolute masterstroke from Arsenal,” Merson said. “They have played an absolute blinder and I have said it all along.
“He has been integral to all of their last three wins and it came just at the right time after Thomas Partey was struggling with a muscle injury.
“Edu also deserves massive credit for what’s going on at Arsenal. He and Mikel Arteta are the brains behind their transformation. You can just picture them sitting around tables at London Colney racking their brains together.
“You only have to look at the January transfer window. I thought Jorginho was going to be a phenomenal signing and that’s exactly what has transpired. It was just so clever in every way imaginable.
“He might not even be there next season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he left this summer but it doesn’t matter. It’s just the way Arsenal are thinking, they’re doing everything they can to maximise their chances of success.”
