Alisson breaks silence over world-record Liverpool move

Liverpool target Alisson has told Roma fans that he “will say everything later” regarding his future.

Alisson looks certain to join Liverpool this summer after the Reds agreed a £66million fee with Roma.

The Brazilian will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of a proposed world-record transfer for a goalkeeper.

It places a huge amount of pressure on Liverpool to perform this season, but also solves a goalkeeping problem that saw Loris Karius made two high-profile mistakes in the Champions League final in May.

Liverpool faced competition from Chelsea for Alisson, but were so wary of being beaten to his signing that they quickly pressed ahead in negotiations and seem to have landed their target.

Italian website Forza Roma, affiliated to newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, published a video on Wednesday that showed Alisson at Rome’s Ciampino airport preparing to board a private jet to Manchester on his way to Liverpool.

The Brazilian arrived in the UK late on Wednesday, and will be offered a six-year contract at Anfield.

Alisson spoke in the video, saying: “Greetings to Roma fans. I’m sorry but I cannot say any more, I’ll say everything later.”
