Allardyce’s exit may see Rooney delay MLS move
Wayne Rooney could put his move to MLS back a year following Sam Allardyce’s dismissal by Everton.
The Toffees sacked their manager on Wednesday, leaving the 63-year-old “shocked, disappointed and disgusted”.
Allardyce had sanctioned Rooney’s move to DC United, with the Everton skipper willing to go to MLS after reportedly being told that he would struggle for game time at Goodison Park next season.
But the 32-year-old may now reconsider after Allardyce’s exit.
The Sun claims Rooney will wait until Everton appoint their new manager before making any decisions over his immediate future.
If England’s record goalscorer believes he has a role to play with the Toffees, then he may delay a lucrative switch to USA until 2019.
