Carlo Ancelotti will look to sell up to six Everton players in a huge clearout at Goodison Park, according to reports.
The Toffees won their first two matches under the Italian boss but have since lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the Premier League and to arch-rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup third round.
Everton had the better chances in the first period against Liverpool over the weekend but were not able to take advantage as the Reds’ keeper Adrian made a string of fine saves.
But Liverpool upped the tempo after half-time and put pressure on the Everton defenders, who were unable to build from the back, as they went down 1-0 at Anfield.
He is ‘expected to dump’ £45m Gylfi Sigurdsson when he gets a chance after The Sun said he has ‘given up’ on the Iceland international.
Cenk Tosun (top of any list, surely), Theo Walcott, Morgan Schneiderlin are also mentioned in the report as players that will be included ‘in a cull of Goodison failures’ while Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford could also see the door.
The six players mentioned in the report were brought to Everton for a reported combined total of £162m plus add-ons.
