Are Arsenal heading for possible goalkeeper crisis?

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is wanted by Valencia, potentially leaving Arsene Wenger with a headache.

According  to The Sun, Valencia are willing to pay £5m to sign Martinez, who was Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper last season.

There is no great panic about losing Martinez, but David Ospina is also close to leaving Arsenal, with Fenerbahce circling.

When you also consider that Wojciech Szczesny has been linked with a permanent move to Roma and Juventus, you see Wenger’s problem.

Losing one goalkeeper would be acceptable, two would be careless but three would be something of a disaster, particularly with concerns over Petr Cech’s form.

That said, if neither Martinez nor Ospina are good enough, why bother keeping them?

Whatever happens, it looks likely that Wenger may need to buy at least one goalkeeper this summer, even if he is just a reserve option. Alex Manninger, anyone?
