Arsenal have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sell Olivier Giroud to the Premier League champions for £15million, according to reports.
With Arsenal closing in on a club-record move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Giroud would likely be surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium.
The Frenchman has been linked with West Ham this month, but Gianluca di Marzio is now reporting that Chelsea have agreed a fee of £15m plus bonuses for his services.
Di Marzio, who broke news of Manchester United’s opening bid for Alexis Sanchez in early January, claims that the deal will hinge on two other transfers involving Arsenal, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund had attempted to involve Giroud in negotiations with Arsenal over Aubameyang, but have identified Michy Batshuayi as a potential alternative, with Giroud becoming Chelsea’s new back-up forward.
Whatever happened to Arsenal resisting the deal?
