Arsenal are targeting Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac to head a ‘three-man structure’ as their new management team.

Arsenal face the prospect of appointing their first new manager in 22 years this summer, with Arsene Wenger stepping down from the role.

A number of candidates have been linked with the post, ranging from Carlo Ancelotti to Massimiliano Allegri.

But it is understood that the Gunners are ‘exploring’ other options, with the club potentially targeting younger, more tactics-oriented head coaches.

Liverpool assistant Buvac was linked with the club earlier this week after doubts were cast on his long-term future at Anfield.

Sky Sports News are now reporting that the 56-year-old is the man Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has identified to lead the club forward.

Mislintat is ‘championing’ Buvac, and he ‘believes a three-man structure incorporating himself, Buvac as head coach and Raul Sanllehi, Arsenal’s head of football relations’ could be the future.
