Arsenal ‘increasingly confident’ of transfer after they ‘agree personal terms’ with ‘marquee signing’

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City after agreeing personal terms, according to reports.
The Brazilian has been a rotation option for Pep Guardiola this season despite not having any recognised strikers on his books at the Etihad.
Jesus started 21 Premier League matches this season with his time on the pitch likely to be reduced next season with City confirming a deal had been struck with Borussia Dortmund for Erling Haaland last month.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Jesus with Alexandre Lacazette leaving at the end of this month, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left a hole in their attack whe he departed earlier this year.
Victor Osimhen was on their radar but Napoli’s asking price was too expensive for the Gunners and now Jesus has become their main summer target.
A report earlier today insisted that Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have been offered Jesus by Manchester City, meaning potential complications for the Gunners’ deal for the forward.
However, Football Insider insist that Jesus ‘has agreed personal terms with Arsenal’ with the Premier League club ‘increasingly confident of making the forward their marquee summer signing’.
A source close to the north London club has told the website that Jesus ‘has settled the terms of a lucrative long-term deal that will seal him land a major pay rise’.
There has been contact between Arsenal and City but Football Insider adds that the clubs have yet to ‘agree a fee’ but the Gunners are in a good position with Jesus ‘eager to link up again’ with Mikel Arteta.
It is understood that City will have ‘little option but to cash in on Jesus’ with only a year left to run on the Brazil international’s contract at the Etihad.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell is excited at the prospect of the Gunners signing either Osimhen from Napoli or Roma’s Tammy Abraham.
Campbell told Football Insider: “He will cost Arsenal at least £80million. Let’s be honest, he’s not done himself any harm scoring the goals he did last season. He has played brilliantly.
“Osimhen is lightning quick, can hold the ball up but can head it as well. He attacks the ball pretty well.
“A striker like that, an all-rounder, is going to be expensive. Tammy Abraham and Osimhen have similar qualities. You can see the kind of player Arsenal are going for.
“You’re going to get no change out of £80million if you go for Osimhen.”
