Arsenal have identified three potential replacements in the event that they sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City.
Sanchez has been courted by City throughout this summer, but only this past week have the Gunners entertained the idea of selling their star player.
They were previously adamant that the Chilean would not leave despite having just 12 months remaining on his contract.
On Wednesday, reports emerged claiming that Sanchez’s Arsenal teammates wanted to see the player sold, as his future was becoming distracting.
By Thursday, it is now claimed that if City offer £70m for Sanchez, Arsenal will let the player go, but only if they can sign a replacement first.
The Daily Mirror are one of many newspapers to identify that Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler is one of said players.
Arsenal have long held an interest in the Germany international, who was reportedly put up for sale earlier this month.
The 23-year-old’s agent responded to those claims, but it now appears as though the Gunners’ interest has become more concrete.
The other two players on the Arsenal shortlist are believed to be Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and Leicester forward Riyad Mahrez.
The Mirror add that Arsenal ‘know they cannot sell Sanchez unless they bring in a big signing for fear of a fan backlash’. Any potential signing depends on his sale, folks.
