Arsenal legend offers new theory for Kane’s struggles

Harry Kane might be struggling for form due to his new-born daughter.

Tottenham striker Kane has scored two goals and assisted one in five games so far this season, breaking his August duck in the process.

But his performances have been lacklustre, bearing all the hallmarks of a player fatigued by no real break between a tasking World Cup campaign and the start of this season.

Gary Neville is “concerned” by the player’s fitness levels, but manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he is “not worried”.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has now waded in, suggesting the 25-year-old might be affected by the birth of his new baby daughter last month.

“There are also worries about Harry Kane’s fitness – but we need to cut him some slack,” he told The Sun.

“When you watch him, he does not look as sharp as we have seen him before.

“But people don’t take into consideration the fact he has just had a new baby.

“How many other players coming back from the World Cup have recently had a new addition to the family?

“We don’t know what his sleeping patterns are like at the moment so maybe that might have something to do with his form.

“But just like his Tottenham team, Kane can prove everything is all right by putting on a show at the San Siro.”
