Hector Bellerin “has no plans to return to Arsenal” after a successful loan spell with Real Betis in 2021/22, according to reports.

After failing to impress Mikel Arteta, the Gunners manager sent Bellerin out on loan and brought in Takehiro Tomiyasu to replace him last summer.

The Spanish right-back enjoyed a solid campaign with Betis as he helped them win the Copa Del Rey.

The La Liga outfit are eager to make Bellerin’s loan permanent but are reportedly seeking a free transfer with Arsenal against that idea.

Speaking last month, Betis director Antonio Cordon said: “Hector Bellerin? He’s in love with Betis. He’s now back at Arsenal and we will see what happens, he knows our situation.”

Bellerin’s days in north London appear to be numbered and he is not short of admirers with Barcelona and four Serie A clubs also reportedly interested.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spain international “has no plans” to play for the Gunners next season and is ‘hoping’ Betis work out a deal to sign him.

He wrote on Twitter: “Hector Bellerin has no plans to continue at Arsenal next season. He hopes for Real Betis return but the deal is more than complicated because of financial reasons, it will take time.

“Bellerin has received also other approaches and will decide his future soon.”

A return to Betis remains Bellerin’s priority, but with the Spaniards struggling for funds, the door could open for a move to Italy, as per Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

They add that Roma see the right-back as the ‘perfect fit’, while TuttoMercatoWeb say his return to Arsenal is ‘only in passing’, meaning he has no future at the Premier League club.

Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Juventus are the other Italian sides said to be in for Bellerin.

He reportedly earns €4m per year at Arsenal and is under contract at the Emirates until 2023.
