‘I know people will laugh’ – Petit ‘would love’ Kane to leave Spurs for Arsenal to win trophies

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit “would love” to see Harry Kane leave Tottenham and join the Gunners in the summer transfer window.
The England international could be on his way out Spurs this summer with no sign that he will sign a new contract to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He currently has one year remaining on his deal but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy still appears to have little interest in cashing in on him this summer, especially to a fellow Premier League club.
Manchester United reportedly withdrew their immediate interest in Kane after Levy made it clear that he wouldn’t do business with them this summer.
Bayern Munich have made an opening offer worth £60m but that was rejected by Levy with the Bundesliga champions now pondering a potential second bid.
And Petit has now claimed that Kane should move to Arsenal if he’s “tired” of not winning trophies at Tottenham.

The Arsenal legend told DAZN Bet: “I would love to see Harry Kane at Arsenal. I know people will laugh at that, but he started his career at Arsenal. Every player when they retire wants to look back at what they have won. He will always be remembered as a very good striker, but I’m pretty sure he must be tired of it [not winning any trophies].”
Arsenal finished five points behind Manchester City last season in the Premier League title race, after leading the way for most of the season, but Petit thinks the Gunners still need more than Declan Rice to challenge next term.
“[Rice] is a very good addition to the Arsenal squad, but they’ve got to bring in more players if they want to compete for the title, or at least, reduce the gap with Manchester City.
“It’s one step further but they need to bring more players in. If you want to compete for the best prizes in England or Europe you need to put the money on the table. It’s as simple as that.
“It’s been like that for ages in football, but it’s more obvious in the modern game. Spending £200million to increase the quality of your team is one thing, but is it enough for Arsenal to compete with Manchester City right now? I think they’re still short.
“I think they can compete for the podium, but are they good enough, are they strong enough to beat Manchester City right now? City have won five titles in the last six years, they are there every season, they spend a lot of money on players.”
