Arsenal are ready to allow Jorginho to leave and join Fenerbahce this summer with the Turkish side showing interest in their January signing, according to reports.

The Italy international joined the Gunners in the January transfer window from Chelsea as Mikel Arteta looked to make signings to help them win the Premier League title.

Arsenal were leading the way at the top of the Premier League at that point but the £12m signing of Jorginho couldn’t prevent them slipping to second place in the table by the end of the season.

The Gunners have signed Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber this summer and they are now looking to offload some of their squad.

There was a rumour last week in the Turkish press that Jorginho has informed Arsenal that he wants to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer with Fenerbahce interested.

It has been claimed that the Turkish giants have ‘asked Arsenal about the transfer conditions’ for Jorginho with the Italian on their ‘agenda’ before the transfer window shuts.

And now Spanish publication Fichajes claim that Arsenal are planning ‘a surprise exit in the coming days’ with Fenerbahce showing a ‘keen interest in signing’ Jorginho.

Fenerbahce’s ‘eyes have fallen on Jorginho as a possible asset that could make the difference’ as they look to win the Super Lig this season and Arsenal are ‘seriously considering the option of selling the Italian midfielder’.

Fichajes suggest their decision could be based on the need to ‘readjust the squad’ after three expensive summer signings, while they could also be looking to ‘recover’ part of their summer investments.

And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has brought fresh updates on Arsenal transfer business with news on Folarin Balogun and David Raya.

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “AS Monaco want to try and bid again for Folarin Balogun after initial proposal made on Monday. He’s the top target to replace Breel Embolo who snapped his ACL. Both Inter and Monaco expect to have situation clear this week.

“Inter director Ausilio on talks with Arsenal for Balogun: ‘We want someone who can score goals and for sure Balogun is one of the opportunities, but not the only one we are tracking. Lukaku deal? I’m not interested.’

“Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign David Raya, here we go! Deal agreed with Brentford after personal terms sorted last week. Documents being prepared between the clubs, medical to be booked this week. Total package will be close to £30m and Raya will sign a contract until June 2028.”
