Arsenal ‘reopen talks’ to sign £25m-rated Celtic defender

Arsenal are ready to get their pursuit of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney back on track, according to reports.

The Daily Record claimed on Tuesday that Arsenal have had a ‘third bid rejected’ for Tierney and that they ‘won’t be making any more’.

Tierney is ‘unwilling to push for an exit’ and Arsenal’s frustrations mean they have ‘decided they need to walk away from the deal’.

Sky Sports news reporter yesterday added that the Gunners could sign Tierney if they stumped up another “couple of million pounds”.

Solhekol tweeted: “Difference between what Arsenal are offering for Kieran Tierney and what Celtic want is “only a couple of million pounds”.

“Player is happy at Celtic but would like the chance to speak to Arsenal if deal can be agreed.”

However, The Sun claims that there have still only been two bids for Tierney and that the Gunners ‘have reopened talks’ with Celtic.

The Scottish club were unhappy with the structuring of Arsenal’s last offer after the Gunners ‘met Celtic’s asking price – but refused to pay the money up front’.

The report adds that ‘Arsenal believe the clubs aren’t actually that far apart and can still reach agreement’ but Celtic don’t want any ‘payment clauses that might never be realised’ as part of the deal.
