Arsenal outcast ‘subject of loan bid’ from Premier League club as Arteta offloads unwanted left-back

Premier League new boys Luton Town want to sign Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan, according to reports.
Believe it or not, Friday is not all about deadline day and transfers; Luton actually play a game of football.
They host West Ham United in their first Premier League match at Kenilworth Road.
Although the day is not all about transfers, Luton boss Rob Edwards is hoping to get one or two players through the door before the 11pm deadline.
The Hatters have been linked with Arsenal defender Rob Holding, who is now attracting interest from Crystal Palace and a host of clubs abroad.
Edwards did shut down rumours he wants to sign Holding, telling reporters on Thursday: “Nothing in that one. Not sure where that came from.”
And Lokonga is the latest Gunners player to be linked with a move to Kenilworth Road.

According to The Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, Luton have made a ‘loan bid’ to sign Lokonga, who is yet to make a decision.
McGrath wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga subject of a loan bid from Luton. Belgium midfielder to decide on the move.’
Arsenal are still working on the exits of several fringe players, which has held back their ability to sign a fourth player this summer following the additions of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice.
Nicolas Pepe has been linked with clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia but does not appear to be close to the exit door.
One player who has now officially left the club is Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares, who has completed a loan move to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds confirmed the move on Friday morning. They reportedly have the option to make the move permanent for £12million next summer.
Tavares enjoyed a successful loan spell with Marseille last term, scoring six goals from left-back in Ligue 1.
Despite a stellar campaign in France, it quickly became clear the Portugal Under-21 international is not Mikel Arteta’s plans.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Tavares told Forest’s official website.
“Forest is an historic club which won two European Cups and to be part of it makes me really happy.
“I’m really happy to stay in the Premier League as it’s the best league in the world and I’m thankful to Forest for giving me that opportunity.”
Forest CFO, Ross Wilson, added: “We are pleased to welcome Nuno to the club today.
“I know how determined he is to do well here and our staff are all looking forward to working with him.”
