Reported Chelsea target Lautaro Martinez during a match

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is reportedly ‘considering’ making a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

The Argentine is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs. Arsenal and Tottenham were thought to be battling for his signature last summer but neither team could strike a deal.

Liverpool’s greatest ever? Chelsea have matched them since Klopp turned up…

He penned a new contract after the transfer window closed last year, with Inter happy to keep him at the club after receiving around £100m for Romelu Lukaku.

However, a transfer away from the San Siro has never been ruled out, despite the fact his contract runs until 2026.

With Lukaku struggling at Stamford Bridge, Tuchel is keen on bringing in ‘more attacking firepower’ this summer, according to The Athletic.

The Belgian striker scored eight Premier League goals in 2021/22, with a reunion with his former Inter teammate now on the cards.

The report states that the 24-year-old will be ‘very expensive’, whilst it is noted that Chelsea have a ‘good relationship’ with the Serie A club having signed Lukaku from them.

If the Blues are priced out of a deal for Martinez, a ‘cheaper’ alternative is RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku – who provided 55 goal contributions this season.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are said to be ‘exploring their options’ with incoming signings ‘dependent’ on their future at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele ‘can’t be completely ruled out’. The French winger is available on a free transfer this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Liverpool are also interested in Dembele and have ‘entered the bidding’.

The report claims that Liverpool have ‘contacted the footballer’s entourage to sound out his options’. Furthermore, they see the signing of Dembele as a ‘good market opportunity’ as they plan to ‘remodel their offensive plot’.

To do this, they have ‘entered the bidding’ for the France winger along with Chelsea and Barcelona, who want to keep him.
