Arsenal, Tottenham face competition for £30m-rated striker as third Prem club ‘ask about his situation’
According to reports, Newcastle United have joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 29-year-old previously had a spell in the Premier League with Chelsea. He joined them for £60m from Real Madrid in 2017.
After a lacklustre spell at Stamford Bridge, he joined Atletico Madrid in 2019. He has been on loan at Juventus since the start of the 2020/21 campaign.

It is believed that Juventus have decided against signing Morata permanently for around £30m this summer.
This has opened the door for other clubs. Arsenal have been heavily linked with him in recent weeks.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo are stating that Tottenham are also admirers of the forward.
It is also being reported that Newcastle United are now ‘taking an interest’ in Morata.
His contract expires in 2024 and ‘all possibilities are open’.
Nunez has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer after an outstanding season for Benfica which saw him score 34 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.
Manchester City were interested before they signed Erling Haaland, Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs, and inews claim both United and Newcastle are ‘bidding’ for the 22-year-old.
The report claims Nunez is understood to be ‘intrigued’ by Ten Hag’s project at United, with an overhaul of players likely at Old Trafford this summer.
Nunez’s valuation ranges between £60m and £100m depending on the report, but one recruitment chief told inews that Premier League clubs are wary of doing an Arsenal – overpaying for a much-hyped player, as they did with Nicolas Pepe.
The recuitment chief said: “His profile is perfect for the Premier League and he has Champions League experience but there are a few aspects of his game that need honing – and the biggest question mark is whether he’ll be able to cope with the intensity of a Premier League season.
“The sort of money being asked for him is huge and no club wants to do what Arsenal did with Nicolas Pepe, grossly over paying for someone because of the hype around the number of clubs interested in him.”
