Arsenal are looking to make Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos their second signing of the summer, according to reports.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed last week that Arsenal were ‘going head-to-head’ with Tottenham for Ceballos after claims Liverpool were also considering a move.

And now AS (via Sport Witness) claims that Ceballos is ‘one step away’ from joining Arsenal despite Spurs being favourites to sign him as recently as yesterday.

Fellow Spanish newspaper Marca agrees, with the Gunners ‘pushing’ to sign the Spain international with contact made by the north London side.

And Ceballos is keen to move to the Emirates, according to Marca: ‘He likes Arsenal for the club, the city and because at the head of the team is Unai Emery, who is the one who is engaged in the signing of the player.’

Arsenal want a loan deal which will cost them €3m a season, while they will pay all of Ceballos’ wages – a deal Marca describe as ‘wonderful’ for the Premier League outfit.

The Gunners will look to complete the signing ‘this week’ as talks have reached an ‘advanced’ stage, while ‘everything points’ to a move to Arsenal.
