Wenger waits on Cech but Monreal returns for derby

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will give Petr Cech until tomorrow to prove his fitness ahead of the north London derby.

The goalkeeper sustained a knock during last weekend’s 5-1 win over Everton and had to be replaced by David Ospina.

Nacho Monreal also had to be substituted against the Toffees but the defender will be fit to take his place in Wenger’s squad at Wembley.

While Wenger waits on Cech, the Gunners boss insists he is confident in back-up stopper Ospina.

“I have no problem. Ospina or Cech, I will make that decision tomorrow,” Wenger said.

“We should have a similar squad to Everton. Maybe Welbeck will be back.

“We are not sure with Cech, he has not practised. I don’t know if he should be available.

“Nacho Monreal should be alright.”
