Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of three strikers Juventus will ‘aim’ for if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club this summer.

Reports on Thursday claimed Manchester City had agreed a £26million fee with Juventus for the Portugal star, while there are also rumours of talks between his representatives and Manchester United.

It’s clear that the 36-year-old is desperate to leave the Serie A club and the Old Lady are said to be considering various options to replace him.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb (via Sport Witness) claim Juventus have the ‘idea’ to make Aubameyang Ronaldo’s successor in Turin.

The Arsenal skipper scored a hat-trick against West Brom in the Carabao Cup earlier this week but struggled for both form and fitness last season, and the report states he would be open to the idea of a switch to Juventus in the coming days.

But he’s just one of the players the Italian side are said to be interested in, with Everton’s Moise Kean and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauro Icardi further options.

The report adds that Aubameyang is an ‘old desire’ of Juventus and that Arsenal are ‘willing to negotiate’ his sale for around €20million.

But Mikel Arteta lauded the striker after his display against West Brom and is aware of his importance to Arsenal success this season.

Arteta said: “Getting some of those big players back helps any team. He can play in both positions and score goals from either. It’s about getting to his best form, he still isn’t fully fit.

“Auba and Laca (Alexandre Lacazette) are our biggest goal scorers in the team and we know how important they are for our success.”

Arteta remains under pressure despite that win and rather than losing one of his key players, he hinted at adding further quality to his squad in the coming days.

He added: “We don’t know yet, we have already done a lot of things. We’ve done 16-17 deals already. There are still some questions marks on deals that can happen but we will see.”

Arsenal take on Manchester City in the early kick-off on Saturday as they look to secure their first points of the season.
