Arsenal winger joins Feyenoord on season-long loan

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has joined Dutch outfit Feyenoord on a season-long loan after they ended their interest in Man United’s Amad Diallo.
Nelson, who made his Gunners debut at the age of 17 in the 2017 Community Shield, has found himself out of favour with boss Mikel Arteta.
Now 21, Nelson enjoyed a successful loan spell with Bundesliga club Hoffenheim in 2018/19.
Would any club want Arteta as their manager now?
Feyenoord had been looking to recruit a winger in the current window and turned to Nelson after ending their interest in Manchester United’s Amad Diallo.
Elsewhere, Alan Shearer has hit out at Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
This comes after he was sent off against Man City last weekend. This led to the Gunners losing 5-0 at the Etihad. Shearer believes Xhaka simply “did not fancy” it against City:
“That’s 11 red cards in his career now. You just can’t excuse this,” Shearer told Match of the Day. “All he’s said to his teammates is ‘sorry lads, I don’t fancy this today’.
“Who he’s trying to impress I don’t know. You cannot tackle (like that). We all know the laws, you can’t go in like that. He’s putting his opponent in danger. He’s out of control. It’s the correct decision. It’s a red card.
“He’s said to his teammates ‘you’re on your own. Thanks very much, I don’t fancy it today’.
“He (Arteta) should be raging at that tackle. You’re up against it anyway. You cannot afford to do that type of thing.”
