Clubs will have to pay over £100million if they want to sign Jack Grealish after Aston Villa increased his price tag, according to a report.

Grealish was thought to be available for around £70million in the summer with interested parties Tottenham and Manchester United reportedly put off by the high fee.

Villa managed to tie him down to a new five-year contract in the summer, while he has continued on an upward trajectory this season for both club and country.

OPINION: Jack Grealish, diving and the utter failure of the law

The England international has contributed five goals and five assists in just nine Premier League matches this season, in a team that are currently sitting tenth in the table.

And Matt Law in the Daily Telegraph claims that Aston Villa ‘believe Jack Grealish is worth at least £100 million’ which means any club looking to purchase him must make Grealish ‘the most expensive British player in history to stand a chance of signing him.

His call ups for the England squad, his form and his new contract are the main reasons why Villa have given him a new price tag.

The report adds: ‘Barring an unexpected ridiculous offer, there is no chance of Grealish leaving Villa in January and the club still believe they can convince him to stay next summer if they can enjoy a good season.’
