Arsenal finished just outside the Champions League qualification spots in the Premier League last season and saw their alternative route to Europe’s top table blocked by Chelsea as they lost the Europa League final.
The Gabon international was top of the scoring charts last term and has been the match-winner in the opening two games of the season for the Gunners.
“I think as I said earlier we have made good signings, that will help us,” he told Canal Plus, after the Burnley game.
“Last season, we were not far away from qualifying for the Champions’ League.
“Whatever happens, that is the most important thing, the most important aim for us. To be back in the Champions’ League.
“Aside from that, to fight for the title, we know very well that the big guns are ready but we are also ready and in any case we are going to give our all to match the big guns if possible.”
Aubameyang has formed a formidable partnership with Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette who spoke of his desire to cement a place in the France squad.
“The Premier League has seen a very good Lacazette, but not yet the best Lacazette.
“I need to score more goals I know, I need to be more consistent and consistent throughout matches.
“I can do better. I am continuing to work, the national team coach makes his decisions.
“I am trying to put in the work. There you have it. I am still (motivated for it).”
