Barcelona have been told by Arsenal that they can buy Mesut Ozil in January, according to reports.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona have asked about the German and the Gunners have said that £17.7m would secure his services in January as his contract expires in the summer.
Ozil has now become the Spanish club’s Plan B (after Philippe Coutinho) of choice as he is cheap, available and can play in the Champions League.
The report admits that Barcelona are worried about a ‘certain shadow of indolence that surrounds him’ but believe the 29-year-old could still play another three years at the highest level.
Ozil has also been linked with Manchester United but Arsenal would clearly far rather sell to Barcelona.
