Those rumours linking Paul Pogba with a move away from Manchester United just won’t go away.
We can’t get on board with the fact that United are going to sell one of their star assets so late in the transfer window, but The Sun claim that both Barcelona and Juventus are considering making approaches.
Both clubs have until the end of August until their transfer windows close, but with Manchester United unable to buy players after Thursday, it would take an enormous offer for them to consider selling.
The Sun say Barcelona are ‘plotting an audacious swoop’ for Pogba, and also say that the midfielder would jump at the chance. It is worth saying that Barca have just signed Arturo Vidal, which would make buying another midfielder seem a little unnecessary. Still, they have lost Andres Iniesta and Paulinho.
Then, later in the same article, The Sun say that ‘Juve are also thought to be mulling over a £200m offer to bring Pogba back to Italy’. Someone has more money than we expected.
Here’s the thing: It surely isn’t going to happen. There can be all the claims in the world, but United selling one of their best players on the eve of the season would be tantamount to surrender.
