PSG and Inter Milan are set to challenge Barcelona for the signing of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to reports.

Wijnaldum made his move to England from PSV in July 2015. He signed for Newcastle United for around £14.5m.

The Magpies were relegated that year, but the midfielder shone as he scored eleven times from his 38 appearances in the Premier League.

The Dutchman signed for Liverpool that summer for a fee of around £25m. He has been integral for Jurgen Klopp’s side for four-plus years. He has already totted up over 200 appearances for them.

In this time, Wijnaldum has helped Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League.

The 30-year-old has played 32 times this season. He is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of this campaign.

Barcelona have been placed as the favourites to sign him over the past few months. But they will face competition this summer from PSG and Inter Milan.

French outlet Le Parisien have reported that PSG are “very interested” in signing Wijnaldum this summer.

A separate report from FC Inter News reveals that Inter Milan are “monitoring” the player’s situation with it looking increasingly likely that he will leave Liverpool.
