Barcelona to hijack Liverpool’s move for Lemar

Liverpool’s move for Thomas Lemar could be scuppered by late interest from Barcelona as they look to land a central midfielder, according to reports.

With the Reds reportedly making it tricky for Barca to tie up a deal for Philippe Coutinho, it looks as though the Catalans could be turning their attention to ‘Plan B’.

Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Barca are interested in bringing Monaco midfielder Lemar to the Camp Nou with Juventus star Paulo Dybala and Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann also on their radar.

Liverpool reportedly made a club-record offer worth £74million earlier this week for Lemar but it is heavily weighted towards performance-related add-ons.

Following the sale of Neymar to PSG for £198million, the La Liga giants have the cash to pay the full asking price.
