Joey Barton believes West Ham could sack David Moyes as early as January.
Moyes took charge of his first West Ham game on Sunday after being appointed as Slaven Bilic’s replacement earlier this month.
The excuses have started early for the Scot, who presided over a 2-0 defeat to Watford.
The Hammers remain 18th, one point off Premier League safety, and Barton feels that Moyes could be sacked within two months if performances and results do not improve.
“They could be looking for another manager again in January,” he told talkSPORT.
“If they don’t have a positive upturn in performances and results then the January window opens and you go ‘OK, is David going to be our long-term manager? No. Are we going to allow him money to spend? Well, no. Then are we better replacing him?’
“If somebody else more attractive comes to the market, who is to say West Ham won’t replace David again.
“It’s clear he wasn’t the fans’ number one choice.”
