Bayern considering move for Chelsea star as Tuchel is ready to axe Mane who has ‘not impressed’
Bayern Munich are considering a move for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz who they see as a long-term replacement for Thomas Muller.
Given Chelsea’s bloated squad, they are expected to part ways with several high-profile stars this summer.
The German forward has had a tough time of it this season, but he is Chelsea’s top scorer in the league with seven goals.
According to 90min, Bayern see Havertz as a player of interest and they could pursue a move for the 23-year-old in the summer.
Thomas Tuchel has worked with Havertz before and knows how to get the best out of the Chelsea forward.
“Bayern are generally a huge club that it’s hard to say no to as a German player, but my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point,” he told Sport Bild.
The 23-year-old has scored 32 goals in 133 appearances for Chelsea and he has played in a variety of positions.
Elsewhere at Bayern, Tuchel is said to be unhappy with former Liverpool man Sadio Mane who could be let go this summer.
The same report cites that the German boss has ‘not been impressed’ with Mane since his arrival and he is prepared to sell the 31-year-old this summer.
Mane has a stellar reputation in the Premier League, but things haven’t seemed to click for him in the Bundesliga.
After reports of a bust-up between him and Leroy Sane emerged, Mane now seems to be on borrowed time in Germany.
In 35 appearances, Mane has scored 12 goals in all competitions, with seven of those strikes coming in the league.
A potential swap deal involving Havertz and Mane could even be on the cards as Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly given Chelsea the green light for Chelsea to make a move for the Senegalese winger.
Reports suggest that Mane would be available for around £30million as the German club is looking to recoup what they originally spent on the winger.
Chelsea also have the imminent arrival of Christopher Nkunku to deal with in the summer as he will be expecting a regular starting spot.
Next up for Chelsea is a trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal where they will be looking to put an end to their winless run.
