Pep Guardiola knows and is “satisfied” with the identity of Bayern Munich’s next manager.

Bayern sacked Carlo Ancelotti last week after the Bundesliga club were thrashed in the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

Willy Sagnol has been placed in temporary charge of the club, while Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are among the favourites for the permanent post.

Guardiola, who left Bayern in 2016 and was replaced by Ancelotti, met with club president Uli Hoeness on Tuesday.

Hoeness told Abendzeitung that Guardiola was “satisfied” with Bayern’s choice for their next boss.

“He promised that he would come to Oktoberfest every year,” Hoeness said. “It was a meeting between friends, but of course we have also spoken about professional matters.

“I told him who we were going to recruit in the next few days and he was satisfied.”
