Beckham implores Zidane to ‘please beat Liverpool’

David Beckham has implored former Real Madrid teammate Zinedine Zidane to “please beat Liverpool”.

Real face Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday, with Los Blancos hoping to become only the fourth side to win the European Cup three times in succession.

Zidane could make history by becoming the first coach to do so, despite having only been a manager for two-and-a-half seasons.

A former player for both Real and Manchester United, Beckham’s allegiances are obvious.

“To have been successful as a player and now to be successful as the boss, the big boss, is incredible,” he said.

“I just want to wish Zizou, the boss, the president, the club good luck in the Champions League final.

“And please beat Liverpool, please!”
