Hector Bellerin believes Arsenal’s attack – not their defence – is to blame for their recent struggles.
Arsenal have slipped to seventh in the Premier League table after 17 games, having failed to win any of their last three in the league.
Four clubs have scored more than their 30, while five have conceded fewer than their 20.
But Bellerin is keen to absolve the defence of any blame, pointing the finger solely at the strikers.
“It’s difficult because we are dominating the games, we have opportunities, we have the ball possession,” he told ESPN Brasil. “But we don’t have the effectiveness in front of the goal, we lack a little creativity.
“And that’s what makes our game something that people like to see, football with a lot of spectacle, with a lot of first touch, with a lot of speed. I don’t know, we lack this, especially in the last quarter of the pitch.
“Defensively we are good at the back, we are conceding few goals, but we need to improve at the front. We have to keep working and play the next match with a little more audacity.”
