Bendtner, Szczesny and Podolski mock Tottenham
Former Arsenal players Nicklas Bendtner, Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Podolski mocked Tottenham after Sunday’s events.
Spurs started the day in second place in the Premier League, enjoying a two-point gap over their bitter north London rivals heading into a game against already-relegated Newcastle.
Arsenal visited Aston Villa, needing to beat the league’s bottom club and hope Tottenham lost to Newcastle at St James’ Park to finish above Mauricio Pochettino’s side for the 21st consecutive season.
The Gunners cruised to a 4-0 victory over Villa, while Tottenham collapsed to a 5-1 defeat to slip to third.
After the game, Wojciech Szczesny, on loan from Arsenal at Roma, took little time in mocking Tottenham.
In a video he posted to Instagram, the goalkeeper engaged in chants heard at the Emirates Stadium at full-time.
“I’d love to get a fine for this but… ‘It’s happened again, it’s happened again…’ You know the rest,” Szczesny sang.
Former Arsenal forward Bendtner, currently a free agent, took to Twitter to goad rival fans.
