Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez raised questions around whether Brighton’s goal should have stood, and felt his side should have left the Amex with at least a point.

Tomer Hemed’s smart finish five minutes after half time was enough to seperate the sides in an entertaining match.

Benitez was crowned our early loser after Newcastle slipped to a first defeat in four games.

“We did enough to get a point at least,” the manager told Sky Sports post-match.

“Both teams had chances. We had a lot of control and good chances at the end.

“The goal for me was a foul, pushing and blocking. But you cannot change the decision.

“We deserved more. We are still without too much experience in the Premier League. We have to manage these situations a bit better.”
