Besiktas have rubbished reports that Loris Karius’s Liverpool loan deal will be cut short in January.

The German goalkeeper is in the middle of his second year on loan at the Turkish giants and is not due to return to Anfield until next Summer.

The club have denied that Karius is looking to leave Istanbul and return to Merseyside early, reports Takvim.

An official club statement reads: “Some media outlets do not reflect the truth that our goalkeeper, Loris Karius, will terminate the rental agreement in January.”

A return to Anfield would appear odd, with Alisson the undoubted number one, ably supported by Adrian – who deputised for the injured Alisson for the first few games of the season – and Caoimhin Kelleher, the hero of Liverpool’s penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
